"INTERLOCK" • Luminaire Design for Electric Lighting • Winter 2013
INTERLOCK is an ultra flexible, moveable, dismountable, package-able luminaire. The main goals were to design a lighting product that functioned as a table lamp (the requirement was that it could be used for reading), which also could be customizable, flat-packed (easily manufactured and shipped) and was simple for any one to construct (or deconstruct). After several test studies and designs, INTERLOCK was created using a standard incandescent lamp, plywood and plexiglass. Interlock requires no glue or hardware, is made of minimal, simple pieces and can be adjusted for various lighting needs. Each piece fits together to create a whole or completed puzzle; a light constructed of pieces that lock into place. INTERLOCK was designed, constructed and presented with Anna Miron.
